Vintage Builder's Tank Test Model of 1965 Aluminum
Motor Yacht Calypso.
Deisgned by Daniel McCarthy
This is the original builder's Tank Test model of a custom yacht named Calypso that was designed and built in 1965 for a yachtsman for ocean cruising. Models such as this are very
rare in the market place, and are very expensive to build. This one with her pronounced shearline, graceful flared bow and
curved transom is a magnificent work of design, and model maker's craftsmanship. The aged patina of her varnish is particularly
appealing, and the designer's notations penned inside the hull add a touch authenticity.
