Presentedare two antique cast brass dolphins, which are decidedly British in appearance, and are intended to be used to draw attention to an object or increase its importance. They stand 17 inches tall, are 3 inches deep and 8 3/4 inches wide at the base. They weigh 21 1/2 pounds each. They also may be used as door stops or in various other ways that are limited only by your imagination.

Here they are shown side-by-side, and below is shown the reverse which exposes the molds cavity. You can see the foundry's mark near the base of each. It is a tiny fish.

                       

CUSTOM MADE: Since these these dolphins were never intended to be used as andirons and since no others have been found to exist in this configuration, they likely were custom made for the type of use we've explained.

CONDITION:  There are no discernible casting defects or any other things to make note of.
