A classic ship's Wardroom clock which keeps excellent time, and is in outstanding condition all around! Presented is a Seth Thomas ship's clock that was mounted on a bulkhead, on a ship's bridge, quarter deck, or in the officer's wardroom from the 1920's. It has a 6" silvered brass dial, a 5 1/2” viewing area with Arabic numerals, and is housed in a heavy, forged, bronze case. The case is fitted with a screw on bezel. The black spade hands are over a very distinctive large seconds dia which replaces the numeral 6 makes this type clock easily recognizable. Below this large inner dial is "Made by Seth Thomas in U.S.A".  A lever type fast/slow regulator is near the 9 o'clock position. The movement is a high quality Lever No. 6, 11-jewel, 8 day time-only movement, that was especially made to compete with Chelsea. It has a 6" silvered brass dial, a 5 1/2” viewing area with Arabic numerals, and unique spade hands and a very large secondary sweep second hand. It is in excellent condition.and is housed in a heavy, forged, 7 1/2 inch forged bronze case. The case is fitted with a screw on bezel. It dates from the 1920's.  It has been recently serviced by a master clocksmith and is running well. The custom stand, a $75.00 value, is included. The ingenuity and workmanship of Seth Thomas was recognized throughout the world because of their high grade precision time pieces making this a great relic of maritime and horological history!    There are some minor smudges on the face    Polished & lacquered forged brass case CONDITION:This example is in like new original condition and is keeping excellent time as rated against a quartz comparison watch. The face has a few smudges just below the 12 and and at the 8. There is some black paint missing from the back. The eight day No. 6 brass Seth Thomas has been professionally inspected and cleaned with ultrasonics. All worn pivot bushings were replaced, the mainspring was unloaded, properly cleaned and inspected, lubricated, and reloaded into the mainspring barrels. All operational aspects of the precision 11 jewel platform escapement were inspected and corrected as required, ensuring that the movement is ready for many years of reliable operation. The movement was then properly reassembled, lubricated and adjusted. A key is included.
