Seth Thomas U.S.Coast Guard Ca 1935          8 Day Lever Movement 6 dial, Forged Bronze Case                             Original Near new condition Presented is a collector quality Seth Thomas U.S.Coast Guard Mil-Spec clock that was typically mounted on a bulkhead on a ship's bridge, quarter deck, or in a wardroom. It has a 6 inch black over brass dial with a 5 1/2” viewing area, and heavy forged bronze case of pre World War Two vintage which is the standard deck clock case of that era. The spade hands hands are gun metal black with iridescent green points. The sweep second hand is the same. A lever type fast/slow regulator is at the 9 O'clock position. All the numerals are marked for black-out recognition by round irradium dots on the outside. The dots are no longer radium active. It is fitted with a screw on bezel and the forged bronze case is hand polished. The movement is a 11-jeweled, 8 day time-only movement, with a lever type regulator. It is running well. "Made by Seth Thomas in U.S.A.", is silk screened below the “6“ o'clock position. "U.S. Coast Guard" is above the center arbor. There are no numbers or marks on the back of the case. The stand shown is included, a $75.00 value. Maritime and military clocks by Seth Thomas  were made to the exacting standards of the specifications established jointly by the military and the U.S. Naval Observatory.   3/4 side view 3/4 back view Near flawless dial with screened numerals and spade style hands CONDITION:  The clock was recently service which included being completely disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, pivots polished, and lubricated with synthetic lubricant. The clock is running strong and keeping good time compared to an accurate quartz watch. The case is in good condition with some rough marks on the flange at the 8 O'clock position, and other normal marks of age and use. The face is near perfect with the dust ring showing some paint loss. We recommend it be wound about every four days for best timekeeping. The only conditions are that an email authorization be obtained within three days, and that the instrument is returned in its original condition and packaging, and insured for its full value.
