SPERM WHALE CARVING
Presented is a beautiful rustic hand carved Folk Art sperm whale carving. It was purchased in New England with the seller indicating that it was acquired on Nantucket.
The personality and character of this whimsical carving speaks for itself. It appears to be quite old, although there are no markings indicating either the artist or date. It is carved on a 1 ˝” wood plank, roughly tapered down toward the tale, with separate pieces fitted for jaw, fins and tale.
Maritime and nautical folk art is always in demand and very collectible, particularly carvings of whales. They make a fun and light hearted addition to almost any decor.

30" L x 12" W x 6"T
CONDITION: This is a rustic carving, probably in close to original condition. The back of unfinished wood has two mounting brackets, and from it’s color, we assume that this has been mounted on a wall for some time.
