The noted maritime historian and illustrator Howard Chapelle found this plan in a European archive. The plan and some notes were passed from Chapelle through a handful of authors ending up with Clayton A. Feldman, who developed a set of plans from which he developed a reconstruction. According to this researcher, a model company, in turn, developed a kit based on Feldman's plans. The notes characterize this design as being a link between the Bermuda sloops of circa 1740 and the Virginia schooners of the early 1800s." Edited from Sail Classics Magazine 2006 article "What Ship Is That" by Jim Bloom. To bring this full circle the kit model which was introduced in the 1950's was discontinued in the 1960's and was reintroduced by them as a kit in 2007, and no longer produced.
