Usually, we go into great detail in presenting our items with the belief that information helps make an informed buying decision easier. In this case, except for a few simple statements, we are going to leave the pictures and our Guarantee of Authenticity and Satisfaction do the talking. The reason is there are so many outright fakes of this maker's products on eBay and the internet using all of the superlatives and outrageous statements that anything we said in addition would sound suspect and be met with skepticism.

Presented is a GIANT two burner bulkhead lamp made by Davey & Co., London. It was likely made in the last years of the 1800's or very early in the 1900's. What sets this lamp apart from all other bulkhead lamps is its sheer size, heavy gauge brass, quality workmanship, solid mounting bracket, and heavy weight. You should be able to judge this for yourself by the detailed pictures provided.

Davey & Co. dates back to 1885. They originally operated from London's West India Docks selling boat and ship fittings, gear and lamps. They are still in business today, making the same type of products for the builders and restorers of classic yachts. CONDITION: Considering its age, and years of use this lamp is in exceptional original condition, and complete in all respects except for the wicks which should be replaced. There are some small dents which can be seen in the photographs. There is even some kerosene still in the reservoir.

If you haven't guessed, this lamp is not cheap. We discovered it in an antique shop in the South of England last February, not buried away, hidden in some warehouse,  and had it shipped to our Jupiter, FL location along with other rare "finds" for a discriminating collector's enjoyment and satisfaction.
