VINTAGE GERMAN 2" GAUGE ELECTRIC STEAM LOCOMOTIVE FOR DISPLAY ONLY  This vintage electric model of a steam locomotive model in 2" gauge. It is patterned after the German DB 2-6-2 Tank Locomotive No. 64453. The saddle water tanks, one on each side, o-000-o wheel arrangement, and long radial boiler formed the basis of it being referred to as a "Radial Tanker" SPECIFICATIONS: Length Overall  17 3/4"         Length Chassis 15 1/4"                        Height 6 1/2"      Maximum Width 4 1/2"              Diameter of bogie wheels 1.1"            Dia. Drive wheels 1.77"   Inside Distance between wheels 58 mm or 2.29 inches gauge Weight 13 1/2 Lbs.  Presented is a replica of a German DB A detailed 2 inch Gauge three-rail electric model of the German DB 2-6-2 Tank Locomotive No. 64453 made with embossed details showing some pipe work, handrails and other details. Painted in DB matt black with  red accents. The overall Dimensions is 17 1/2" or almost a foot and one half long. There are no markings or indication of the maker though the quality suggests Marklin. CONTROLS: The interior of the cab gives the appearance of various controls in the engine's cab for representation only. We have not tested the model and there is no representation that it will run. In Germany, and the rest of Europe and England there are many hobbyists that enjoy the satisfaction or running model locomotive engines and train models. In addition to the hobby market, miniature models like this were made by manufacturers of locomotives for advertising and as a record of their sales. The motor is thought to require AC current. The paper liable on the boiler's front door has deteriorated.
